Agriculture Tractor 504

Fifty horsepower on four driven wheels. The step where ploughing an open field becomes realistic.

50 hp · 4×4

What this machine is

A new 504 agriculture tractor. Four-wheel drive, a 50 hp Laidong engine and an 8 forward, 2 reverse manual gearbox. No cab.

It is the second of the four agriculture tractors we hold, and it is the size most buyers actually need.

What it is used for

Agriculture, on real fields rather than plots.

Primary cultivation. Ploughing, disc harrowing and ridging on open ground, with implements sized to the tractor.

Planting and drilling. Seeders and planters, and the row work that follows.

PTO work. Threshers, mills, mowers, pumps and sprayers, at a size where the implement is a working tool rather than a demonstration.

Farm haulage. A loaded trailer of produce, inputs, feed or firewood from the field to the road or the market, which on many farms is the job that pays for the tractor.

Contract work. At this size a tractor can earn money ploughing for neighbours, which is how a great many of them are financed.

Why 50 hp is the size to buy

There is a real threshold in this range and it sits here.

Below it, at 28 hp, a tractor is an access machine and a PTO source. It works where nothing bigger fits and it drives implements standing still. What it does not do well is drag a plough through a field all day.

At 50 hp, draft work becomes the job rather than the limitation. You can pull tillage implements through open ground at a rate that finishes a field in a day rather than a week. That is the difference between a tractor that supports the farm and a tractor that runs it.

Above it, at 70 hp and beyond, you gain the ability to pull wider implements and work heavier soils faster, and you start paying for it in fuel, tyres, weight on the ground and purchase price.

The honest test: how many hectares do you actually cultivate, and how heavy is the soil? On light to medium ground at modest acreage, the 504 is the machine and the 904 is money spent on capability you will use twice a year. On heavy clay, or on acreage where the season is short, it is the other way round.

Tell us your acreage and your soil and we will say which one we would buy.

Condition, and what we do before it ships

New, so the workshop pass is preparation and export prep rather than refurbishment. We photograph the actual machine before it loads.

Implements matter more than the tractor here. A 50 hp tractor is only worth what you can hang on the back of it, and the wrong-sized plough is the most common way a good tractor disappoints. Tell us the implements you need and what your soil is, and we will tell you what to match to it and what is better bought locally.

Shipping it

No shipping volume is published, because our catalogue does not print dimensions for the farm tractors. We do not estimate one: a wrong CBM is a wrong freight quotation and you would discover it at the invoice.

We measure the machine and quote from that. If you are taking several, tell us the total, because the freight per tractor falls considerably with quantity.

Loaded at our yard in Tangshan, shipped through Tianjin Port.

What to tell us

Your acreage and your soil type. The implements you need and what you already own. How many tractors. Your destination port.

Questions buyers ask about this machine

What is the difference between this and the 28 hp?

Twenty-two horsepower, and it changes what the tractor is for. The 28 works inside orchards and on small plots. The 50 will pull a two-furrow plough through open ground, run a mid-size PTO implement and haul a working trailer. It is the first size in the range that handles a field rather than a plot.

Will 50 hp pull a plough?

Through most soils, with a plough sized to it, yes. Furrow count is set by horsepower and by how heavy your ground is, and heavy clay takes considerably more than light sand. Tell us your soil and what you are pulling now and we will be realistic rather than optimistic.

Does it have a cab?

No. Of the four agriculture tractors we hold, only the 1604 carries a full cab. If you work long days in sun and dust, that is the one to look at.

What is the shipping volume?

Our catalogue does not print dimensions for the farm tractors, so there is no CBM on this page and we will not estimate one. We measure the machine and quote the freight from that.
