Agriculture Tractor 1604
The largest tractor we sell, with a cab. The engine figure our catalogue prints for it is wrong, so it is not on this page.
4×4

What this machine is
A new 1604 agriculture tractor, the largest in our range. Four-wheel drive, a Laidong engine, an 8 forward, 2 reverse manual gearbox, and a full cab.
The engine output is not on this page, and the reason is specific rather than general.
The figure we refused to print
Our catalogue lists the 1604 at 28 horsepower. That is the same figure it lists for the R28, which is the smallest tractor in the range and a machine for orchards and market gardens. The largest tractor in a family cannot have the same output as the smallest one.
So the catalogue is wrong here, and we know it is wrong. That leaves a choice.
We could print it anyway, which is what a listing that copies its supplier’s data does. We could correct it to what the model number implies, since tractor model numbers usually encode output and the inference is easy to make. Or we could leave the row out and tell you why, which is what this page does.
The second option is the tempting one and it is the dangerous one. An inference sitting in a specification table looks exactly like a measurement. You would have no way to tell them apart, and you would size your implements against it.
This is on a list of catalogue items we raised with the factory rather than passed on to buyers, and the 904 on the previous page is on the same list. When the answer comes back it goes into the content file and onto the page. Until then, ask us: we read the plate on the actual machine and put it in writing on the Proforma Invoice before you pay anything.
Missing data renders as absent, never as a guess. That rule applies across every page on this site and this is the page where it is most obviously earning its keep.
What it is used for
Agriculture, at the largest scale we serve.
Estate arable. Ploughing and cultivating substantial acreage where the season is short and the constraint is how much ground you cover per day.
Contract farming. Working several holdings through a season, which at this size is a business in its own right.
Wide implements at speed. Large ploughs, wide harrows and big seeders, where each pass covers enough ground to justify the machine.
Heavy haulage on the farm. Loaded trailers across rough ground and up gradients, where four-wheel drive and mass are both doing work.
Where it sits, and who should not buy it
The four agriculture tractors we hold run from the 28 hp R28 up to this one, all four-wheel drive, all new, all on the same 8 forward and 2 reverse gearbox. This is the top of that range and the only one with a cab.
The case for it is acreage and time. If your season forces you to cover a lot of ground in a short window, the largest machine finishes the job and a smaller one does not, and everything else is secondary to that.
The case against it is that a large tractor is expensive in every direction: fuel, tyres, weight on your soil, and the implements you have to buy to keep it occupied. A big tractor pulling implements sized for a 70 hp machine is a worse purchase than the 70 hp machine.
If your acreage does not fill it, the 904 does much of the same work more cheaply, without a cab. Tell us your hectares and your soil and we will say which.
Condition, and what we do before it ships
New, so the workshop pass is preparation and export prep. We photograph the actual machine before it loads, the cab interior included, and the engine plate, because that is the row this page does not fill in.
Shipping it
No shipping volume is published, because our catalogue does not print dimensions for any of the farm tractors and we do not estimate. We measure the actual machine and quote from it. Expect this to be the largest box of the four, because it is both the biggest frame and the only one with a cab.
Loaded at our yard in Tangshan, shipped through Tianjin Port.
What to tell us
Your hectares and your soil, honestly, because they decide whether this or the 904 is the right machine. The implements you need and what you already own. Your destination port and the quantity. And ask for the engine figure.
Questions buyers ask about this machine
Why is the horsepower missing?
Because the figure our catalogue prints for the 1604 is 28 hp, which is the same as the smallest tractor in the range and cannot be right for the largest. Rather than correct it with a guess, we left the row out. Ask us and we will read the plate on the actual machine.
Can you not just print the real number?
Not until we have read it off the machine. We know what the model number conventionally implies and we are not going to publish an inference in a specification table, because you would have no way of telling it apart from a fact. It goes in writing on your Proforma Invoice once we have confirmed it.
What is the largest tractor you sell?
This one. It is the top of the four agriculture tractors we hold, four-wheel drive with a full cab, and it is aimed at estate-scale farming and contract work rather than at a single holding.
Does it come with implements?
Implements are quoted separately and they matter more at this size than at any other. A large tractor pulling small implements is a large fuel bill. Tell us your soil, your acreage and what you already own, and we will match them properly.

Full specification
Only what the catalogue actually prints. A row that is not here is a figure we do not have yet. Ask, and we confirm it against the machine in our yard rather than guess at it.
